O the sleeping bag contains the body but not the dreaming head on show at the Altman Siegel Gallery from April 18th to June 1st, features work by three artists; Alice Channer, Aaron Flint Jamison and Anicke Yi. In recent years, the term Flow Painting has come to denote the work of a highly variegated group of process painters who balance action and restraint, intuition and conscious intent. I attended Matilde Llambi Campbell's show at CELLspace last weekend. Both her San Francisco cityscape photographs and her blue horizon seascape paintings were wonderful! I feel she must be part sea-creature (or sea goddess, perhaps?) the way her work loves, appreciates, captures, evokes the light, colors, luminosity of the sea and maritime sky.
