Statement

Naoe Suzuki has worked in various artistic mediums including installation, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, video and performance art. For the past ten years, she has focused on creating highly detailed, precise drawings in mineral pigment and graphite. Her drawings often embodied psychologically complex imagery. Her subject matters include science/medicine, abnormal anatomies, fashion, circus, and art history. Suzuki’s current project involves with obsessive images made up with forms of intestines and organs. Her series, "Blue" explores water as both healing energy and commodified natural resource that has been exploited and contaminated.

Her solo show, "Blue" was exhibited at the Kniznick Gallery at the Women’s Studies Research Center, Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts from January 12 through March 2, 2012.
