Portland, Oregon-based artist Mara Safransky focuses her practice on a mixed media exploration of abstraction. Following schooling at Rhode Island School of Design, Safransky left a career in film to explore the purely creative potential of contemporary art. Her CHROMAWORLDS series represents her departure from paint and her entree into the world of fiber art and textile relief.
Safransky is a member of Gallery 825 and Women Painters West. Her work is held in private collections both domestically and abroad, and was most recently on view at the Brenda Taylor Gallery in New York.
